HISTORY

Megan was the child who never asked for help; if she needed anything done, she would do it herself. This attitude was reinforced throughout her childhood by her parents, who felt that she should be able to explore the world for herself, meeting her own goals and making her own mistakes. They did have to have more expectations for Megan than her sister Justine, given that Meggie was the heir, but she met these expectations with ease and then turned to other matters. She always seemed to be doing something, very rarely just sitting down and relaxing. The project that gave her most joy was the hand-raising and training of her dragon, Thornbird, who is her constant companion, except on the occasions when Justine "borrowed" her. This not only made Megan regret teaching Jussy how to fly, but also contributed to antagonistic relationship between the two. This situation has cooled now that Megan lives in Razen, as the sisters find that they get along much better with physical distance between them.

Once she was of age, Megan travelled to Razen to take her place as Ysak's representative on the Council. She found politics fascination, especially the dynamic that existed between the then-Princess Edalene and Regent-Prince Reeve. She enjoyed navigating the alliances and rivalries, but always looked at it from an objective and practical point of view. While she certainly was involved in the various activities, she always made sure not to become emotionally involved. She also always puts the needs and wants of Taleth and her family over those of Razen as a whole, though for the most part they have overlapped during the period she has been on the council.

Throughout her life, both in Razen and Taleth, Megan has also engaged in a number of short, romantic relationships with men, all of which she has found unsatisfying in the end. The need to be married and have children is of course always on her mind, but it is not something she looks forward to in the slightest. Adding to this distaste is an attraction she has felt towards other women but has never acted upon. For the most part, any relationship she has outside her family is one she sees as beneficial and is an asset, nothing more, nothing less.

The last year of Megan's life has been a tumultuous one. The discovery of Cromwell's treachery had ramifications that are still being felt by all, especially the Council as they see the Queen take a greater role in everyday governing. The spread of the Goddess religion has also changed the face of this world. Megan herself has converted to this new religion, although not with any great fervour. Of late, the biggest issue is of course the terrorist actions that have led to many in Razen being poisoned. Megan herself did fall mildly ill, but was spared from any of the more serious symptoms. Like the rest of the Council, all her time is now being devoted to finding a solution to the situation.

PERSONALITY

The number one word that anyone would use to describe Megan is independent, a trait required by her childhood. She relies only on herself, unless it is necessary to get help from others (and doing so greatly disturbs her as she does view it as a weakness). She does have a fair number of acquaintances who would seem to be friends, but none whom she is truly close to. Another aspect developed early in her life was a high level of discipline. This is especially apparent when it comes to her learning, although she personally was never overly interested in scholarly activity, desiring to be a history maker rather than a historian. She would also be classified as a workaholic, as she is completely devoted to her job and finds it difficult to turn her brain off and relax, except when she is flying.

Megan has always had trouble connecting with other people as she can be quite frigid, especially towards the men whom she has been involved with (this trait affects her sexually as well as in terms of personality). While she is polite enough, there is always something cold and distant about her. However, she does view people as being people, rather than falling into her sister Justine’s attitude of seeing them as toys.

Megan has always been very concerned about appearances, more so than the actual reality of a situation. As long as you can hide it effectively, she really doesn’t care what anyone does behind closed doors. The hypocrisy of such a view has never bothered her.

APPEARANCE

Megan is of average height and build. She has long blonde hair which is almost always kept back in a messy ponytail. She has blue eyes and usually fairly pale skin, unless she has been out for a long ride on Thornbird. She often wears glasses even though she does not need them, because she feels they make her look more intelligent and important. She wears very conservative clothing in light, cool colours.
